The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) is a registered charity which operates two emergency air ambulances, the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) and the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA). TAAS also operates the national Children's Air Ambulance, an emergency transfer service for seriously ill babies and children.
“We were recommended to Tek-nology Solutions Limited by a former colleague who had worked with them in a previous organisation. They have supported us across a broad range of IT areas; specifically, they have planned and implemented remote working, enabling our business-critical operations to continue without interruption."
Kiran Tailor, Finance Director, The Air Ambulance Service
When we joined them, they had four operational locations and more than 50 fundraising shops.
We led a fact-finding exercise to determine their business and organisational needs, from an IT perspective. By working closely with a range of stakeholders we were quickly able to understand and assess the impact of the pain points in their existing IT infrastructure. Their existing system was cumbersome and did not fully serve the needs of their remote users.
Our proposals included Citrix, with its benefits of central app deployment, support for remote office, security of data and remote working.
During lockdown, the IT infrastructure that we had created enabled the back-office operations of TAAS to fully continue, as normal. We also updated their IT environment to better support Microsoft Teams video calls. This was achieved by optimising Citrix to enable TAAS to better manage Teams calls, so improving the uptake of this valuable tool amongst colleagues and increasing collaboration whilst working from home.
Our solutions have enabled business-critical operations to continue without interruption.
